A solar PV health check is a full inspection of a commercial array that reports on its condition, safety and performance. It gives you a clear picture before buying a building, at end of warranty, or when output looks low. PPA Funding introduces you to a vetted provider for a no-obligation quote.
What a health check covers
An inspection looks at the whole system, not just the panels. A provider checks the modules for damage, hot spots and soiling, reviews the mounting and roof penetrations, inspects DC and AC wiring, isolators and the inverter, and confirms labelling, signage and earthing are in order. They compare actual generation against what the system should be producing.
The output is a condition report you can keep: a plain summary of what is healthy, what needs watching and anything that should be fixed, often with photos. Some providers include thermal imaging or string testing in the check so hidden faults are caught alongside the visible ones.
When a health check is worth booking
Common triggers are buying or selling a property with solar, taking over a site from a previous occupier, reaching the end of an inverter or workmanship warranty, or simply suspecting the system is not earning what it should. A check also makes sense after roof work, storm damage, or years without any inspection. It is a small cost against the value of knowing what you are buying or running.
Turning findings into action
A report is only useful if it tells you what to do next. A good provider ranks findings by urgency, separates safety issues from efficiency gains, and gives an honest steer on cost. From there you can decide what to fix now and what to plan for, with no pressure to commit.
Because the report is yours to keep, it also works as a baseline. Repeat it in a few years and you can see exactly how the system has aged. Send us the system size and location and we pass your enquiry to a provider to quote.

Frequently asked questions
How is a health check different from maintenance?
A health check is a one-off assessment that reports on condition, often for a decision like a purchase or warranty claim. Maintenance is ongoing upkeep. The inspection can be a sensible first step before starting a maintenance plan.
Do you carry out the inspection?
No. PPA Funding is an introducer. We connect you with a vetted solar inspection provider and pass on your enquiry; they carry out the health check and report to you directly.
