Maintaining a rooftop array safely means proper access and fall protection for anyone working at height. PPA Funding does not install access systems itself; we connect building owners with specialists who assess roof access and fit compliant safe-access provision, and pass on your no-obligation enquiry.
Why safe access comes before maintenance
Every rooftop array needs someone on the roof to clean, inspect and repair it, and work at height is where most serious site accidents happen. If there is no safe way onto and around the roof, routine maintenance either does not get done or gets done in a way that puts people at risk. Sorting access first makes everything else possible.
It is also a duty-holder issue. Building owners and managers have responsibilities for the safety of people working on their roofs, and a proper access assessment helps show those responsibilities are being met.
What safe-access provision can include
A specialist can assess the roof and recommend what suits it, from fixed guardrails, walkways and ladder access to anchor points and horizontal lifelines for clipping on. The right answer depends on the roof type, pitch, the array layout and how often people need to reach it. Any system should be designed, installed and certified to the relevant standards.
Existing anchor points and lifelines also need periodic inspection and re-certification to stay valid, so a provider can check what is already fitted as well as advise on new provision.
Arranging an access assessment through PPA Funding
Tell us the building type, roof height and how the array is reached now. We introduce you to providers who assess and install rooftop safe-access systems for solar, and pass on your enquiry for a no-obligation quote. The survey and any installation are agreed directly with the provider.
If you already have contractors booked to service the panels, getting access sorted first keeps that visit safe and avoids delays on the day.
PPA Funding is an independent introducer — we do not carry out the work. Tell us about your site and we will source and vet a suitable specialist, who quotes and contracts with you directly. No obligation. Request a quote →
Frequently asked questions
Do I need fall protection just to clean the panels?
Any work on a roof is work at height and needs to be planned and carried out safely. A provider can assess whether your roof needs fixed guardrails, walkways or fall-arrest anchor points, and advise what the relevant standards call for.
Does PPA Funding install the access system?
No. We are an introducer. We connect you with a specialist who surveys the roof and installs any safe-access provision, and we pass on your enquiry for a no-obligation quote. The work is contracted directly with the provider.
